It's that busy time of the year. Gallery shows, book releases, upcoming tours, etc. My DVD producers are still working on the distribution details with Sony, but they do believe my DVD will be out in February followed by a tour of release parties. It's gonna be a crazy-ass 2005 (I always do better in odd-numbered years for some reason even though I prefer even numbers to odd numbers. Oh well...)

TWO NEW PHOTO COMPILATION BOOKS OUT NOW!

The most beautiful and impressive is
WILD: FASHION UNTAMED (The Metropolitan Museum of Art & Yale University Press)

WILD examines how animal fur and skin have come to define ideals of femininity by quoting the physical and sexual characteristics of birds and beasts. Examples include an unprecedented array of designs by Azzedine Alaïa, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce and Gabbana, John Galliano for Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler, and Yohji Yamamoto. Photography by Richard Avedon, William Claxton, Irving Penn, Steve Diet Goedde, Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Linbergh, and more.

This book accompanies an exhibition of fashion at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (November 9, 2004, to February 13, 2005).

FETISH AND FASHION: The photography of Steve Diet Goedde, Frank Neßlage, Robin Cay, & Wolfgang Eichler. (Lounge Verlag, Germany)

I have not seen this book yet but a fourth of it is my work (mostly newly published work and a few ye ol' classics). So far, it's only available in Germany.

(Hollywood, CA. Septemeber 4, 2004) BLUEGIRL PRODUCTIONS in Association with Steve Diet Goedde presents CaNdYLAnD at BLUESPACE.
From the dark and twisted minds of your favorite artist "sinners" Heidi Calvert and Steve Diet Goedde, comes "CaNdYLAnD"... an art show so SWEET it will give you a bellyache. Sweeter than Strawberry Shortcake, cuter than My Little Pony, and wackier than Willy Wonka - "CaNdYLAnD" has been created out of loving sarcasm just for all the "good" people of Hollywood! Suitable for a kindergarten class or childish adults who still like to play with dollies and action figures, and still enjoy wildly jumping on their beds, this G-rated show is sure to be "pure" fun! Golly, isn't that nice?
Art show co-curated by Heidi Calvert and Steve Diet Goedde featuring Heidi "bluegirl" Calvert, Steve Diet Goedde, Carlos Batts, Anna Devia, Perry Gallagher, Courtney Howard, Lincoln, Shellee Luna, Misha, Travis Morley, Muffinhead, Dave Naz, Beatrice Neumann, Octavio, Tim Polecat, Ronan Spelman, Tod Junker Waters; Film by Art of Bleeding; performance art by Amber Ray, Lenora Claire, & Jezebelle X.

Bluespace is a space for Hollywood’s art scene to create, awe and inspire… at last- Hollywood’s artists have a home! Bluespace is quickly becoming the core of the art community in an up and coming neighborhood at Hollywood and Western, and the Los Angeles art scene’s heartbeat grows stronger. It’s artist/owner Heidi Calvert’s vision to inspire people to express themselves in a positive way- through experiencing and creating art!
